The link-state advertisement (LSA) is a basic communication means of the OSPF routing protocol for the Internet Protocol (IP). It communicates the router's local routing topology to all other local routers in the same OSPF area. OSPF is designed for scalability, so some LSAs are not flooded out on all interfaces, but only on those that belong to the appropriate area.

Oct 31, 2012 Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) protocol States OSPF states – The device operating OSPF goes through certain states. These states are: Down – In this state, no hello packet have been received on the interface. Note – The Down state doesn’t mean that the interface is physically down. Here, it means that OSPF adjacency process has not started yet. OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) Routing Protocol & Its Stages Dec 29, 2017 OSPF seven Stages - Video By Sikandar Shaik || Dual CCIE

RFC 2328 OSPF Version 2 April 1998 Interface The connection between a router and one of its attached networks. An interface has state information associated with it, which is obtained from the underlying lower level protocols and the routing protocol itself. Jan 29, 2020 · In OSPF, a point-to-point link adjacency is a link that connects to only one other OSPF router. In the above, R1’s 12.1.1.1 link only connects to R2 and is expressed as a point-to-point link in OSPF. OSPF exhibits what may seem to be odd behavior when it comes to point-to-point links.
