How To Fix "IPv6 Connectivity: No Internet access" Problem Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) is the most recent Internet Protocol (IP) version, which is intended to supplement and eventually replace Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4). Despite this, many Internet services still use the older protocol.

There was a common problem in the past where the modem MAC address would be entered incorrectly during activation and that would break IPv4. That hasn't been a problem since last November since our engineers found a way to detect when this occurred and fix it automatically. When the IPv6 Connectivity states "No internet access", it's possible the DHCP server can be detected but the system cannot assign the no-link-local address. In other words, the IPv6 Connectivity may suffer a misconfiguration. It seems to be that IPv6 addresses are being handed out but not IPv4. Static IPv4 addresses with static DNS entries are fully functional. Expanded the DHCP range as well. I've seen this at another client and was only able to permanently stop this behavior by putting in a third-party router and getting the comcast router put in passthrough mode My ISP provides native IPv6. That used to work. But not anymore: dmesg says: IPv6: wlan0: IPv6 duplicate address 2a00:cd8:blabla:1af4:6aff:fe9c:ced4 detected! IPv6
