The buffered BOSS definitely improves the signal but tuning sucks so I'd like to move it up behind the B9 and then put a new end-of-chain buffer before the amp. Just picked up a fulltone '70, which is freaking out of this world amazing. Played it with my les paul, which has a CAL Redeemer inside the guitar. the fuzz was super spitty and intense (not necessarily a bad thing) with the les paul. the les paul also coil taps, and i got the same results when it was tapped. i then plugged up to my strat which has no buffer, and it was not nearly as spitty
The Boss tuner is buffered-true, and one of the reasons I chose it. It really depends on what a person is after. Note also that the Polytune 2 Mini has a true bypass, while the Polytune 3 Mini has a buffer that is switchable to true bypass. Lots of options out there! Buffered bypass pedals can sometimes have a negative effect on the tone of some fuzzes when placed in front of them in the chain, but those same fuzzes can really benefit from placing a buffer after them.
